Will it work with my phone?
The Android + iPhone version works with iPhone 15 and newer (iOS 17 or later) and with any Android phone with a USB-C port (Android 7.0 or later). The Android Only version works with Android phones with a USB-C port. Older iPhones with a Lightning port are not supported.
Will it fit through my phone case?
Almost every case works without any change. Only in rare cases, with an unusually thick or rugged case, can the port sit too recessed. Slipping the case off for the scan solves it.
Will it drain or damage my phone?
No. It draws 5V at 7mA, roughly a thousandth of what charging your phone draws. On iOS it is an Apple MFi certified accessory, which means it has passed Apple's own electrical and safety testing.
How accurate is it really?
Up to ±0.18 °F (±0.1 °C) in body mode. Each reading distils 1,024 samples into one result, and every unit is individually calibrated across the fever range before it ships rather than batch sampled. SGS tested to ISO 80601-2-56, the clinical thermometer accuracy standard.
Is it safe for a newborn?
Yes. It never touches the skin, and Silent Mode turns off the scan tone so you can take a reading without waking a sleeping baby.
Does the app cost anything?
No. The app is free with every device and there is no subscription. That includes the timeline, family profiles, symptom and medication log, reminders and the doctor ready PDF report.
Where is my family's health data stored?
On your phone. Zanis does not collect, transmit or store any temperature or sensor data, so your readings and their history stay on your device. We never sell your personal data. To access or delete the account data we do hold, email contact@zanis.io. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.
